The latest update
It has taken me quite some time again to update this blog. However, I do update my moblog more than this since I can quickly send blogs from anywhere I am and on the go!
A lot of things happening. Simon and I just celebrated out 4th anniversary. A quiet one this year as we did not really have much time to think about celebrating what with all the stress we were encountering. Also we haven't had a chance to do any photos as what we've done the past few years. Oh well, we might do something on our own rather than go to the studio.
Day after our anniversary is Simon's birthday. We have a simple dinner at home where I tried my hand at preparing 'lumpia' which is similar to the spring roll except it is freshly wrapped and not fried. I also managed to bake a cake for Simon although it was not a surprise as like the past few years since he's been lurking in the kitchen the whole time, checking up on what I was up to :-) We had a friend over for dinner to surprise Simon. I'm glad Simon was surprised. Here is a a phtoo with Simon blowing his cake and my not-so-expert-looking cake.
Work is so far okay. We have work to keep us busy and hoping it will not stop. Also hoping that we get to do some of the interesting projects that we have been preparing quotations for. Keeping our fingers crossed.
Apart from work, we've had a few visitors in September and again just last week. In September, we had Harald and Carolyn staying at our home for a couple days after they've watched the F1 race in Shanghai. (I've got a photo of them in my moblog looking at bird cages at the Bird and Flower Market) I think they had a great time in Shanghai although we did not really get that much chance to do a lot of sightseeing due to limited time. They did enjoy the shopping we did - running around the city getting as much as all the items on their impromptu shopping list. It was fun!
Last week, Ming, my former colleague at Philips Design in Taipei, was in town for a few days of doing some market research/testing. It was great catching up with him again. I never get the chance to pop by the office now that the office in Taipei has moved to a 'remote' location. Took him to the Old Town or Yuyuan for some crabmeat dumplings (photo you see in the moblog) which is a Shanghai delicacy. Also met up with him again before his flight to show him Xintiandi. Since it was still early in the morning, there were not that many shops and stalls open however, we did manage to see the Site of the People's Congress as a traditional home inside the Shanghai longtang. Very interesting, since I've not had a chance to see any of these old houses in the Xiantiandi area.
Apart from work and taking visitors around, been finishing some of my knitting in time for the Christmas holidays. I need to ship these as early as possible so I've been trying to finish off these... it's been a knitting frenzy.
On top of all this, I've been trying to develop some stuff to sell online. I've posted some items to some online forum and there seem to be a lot of positive response as long as I can keep the cost down... And my 'ayi' and I have been cookingup of what items we can knit and crochet that would be interesting... So many things to do and so little time....
Lastly, my garden is doing okay at the moment. I am so happy that my roses are doing okay and with already some re-blooms. I have been searching for pink roses but have not yet been successful. I have most reds and creamy yellow ones but would love a pink one. Oh, and something I'm also excited about is that my orchids are also doing great!!! I've got a few that has already re-bloomed or are starting to bloom!!! Yippee!!!
Okay, I better stop here for now.
