17th week

Finally a quick post to my weblog.

For some friends whom we haven't announced the news yet, yes, it is true, Simon and I are expecting our first babies in Sept/Oct. 'Babies' because we are having twins! We don't know the gender of the babies as they are still a bit small to tell.

Simon's taken a few photos of me today. Now at the end of my 18th week of pregnancy, I feel so big! The picture would probably have come out better if taken in the garden. Unfortunately the weather has been so wet since yesterday - non-stop raining! Plus it has started getting a bit nippy too. As you can see the geeky t-shirt that Simon's given me for Christmas fortunately still fits. Not a lot of my bottoms (skirts and trousers) do anymore. Simon made me stand on a stood because I am still too short...

Yesterday I managed to get some 'spring cleaning' done and given away a lot of old clothes. Managed to find a few of Simon's clothes that I can now wear around the house. Everywhere I've gone, people somehow stare at me and my belly. Not sure why. Maybe it's because most of my clothes shows off the shape of my belly whereas almost all pregnant women here wear those very loose tops, dresses or overalls.

Work has been keeping Simon and me quite busy these days; working everyday of the week for the last few months. We're very much looking forward to our quick, and probably the last trip of just the two of us, to Hong Kong. He's got his shopping list all ready... I'm still working on mine though there's not much I really need except to have a look at the strollers and crib I would love to buy. Can't get these in Shanghai, unfortunately. The crib from Stokke are fantastic that they grow with the baby up until around 10-12 years so if it does last that long, then it is value for money. Having twins is going to be quite expensive!!!

Until the next update for now. Got to finish some work.
