These paper packs below are inspired those cross-stitch patterns. I got distracted at work the other day and had the itch to do these patterns. I am planning to use these on a new album I'm working on which the kids will give as gift to friends of their who are leaving China for good. I'll also share the album and templates later on... ... so here are the paper packs.

After I got the pictures on the right, I was just itching to scrap a page to show how my kids have grown. The template I used was from the 'Bloom & Grow' kit purchased from Songbird Avenue. So happy with the turnout of this page...

Songbird Avenue: Digital Scrapbooking for Charity

Just discovered this new site dedicated to selling digital scrapbooking kits for charity. This is a great idea and have purchased my first kit Bloom & Grow. A collaboration kit which features a few exclusive templates designed by my favourite, Ali Edwards.

LOVE 'Album'

Inspired by Ali Edwards' Sharing Your Story book, I decided to do a sort of album for my DH for Valentine's Day. As I didn't have much time to do this, I had to make it as simple as possible and created the simple 'LOVE' shapes from simple typography.

I've added some extra embellishments to the front and back sides of each character on top of the digital embellishments. I included as separate pages, I added some vintage Valentine's cards (I remember these when I was still in grade school) I bought from etsy and I printed for the kids to use. It so happens, I had extras lying around so it was a nice extra addition.

When it was time to bind it together, I encountered a major problem. I couldn't get the ring binders thru the holes where I've added eyelets. As it was midnight I was getting desperate...

Finally after going thru all my stash, I remembered some adjustable rings for making into ring jewelry which I've never managed to making. Aha! They fit and were just perfect! I added some beads on the rings, too. I was so so so relieved that I did it and had the sense of accomplishment when done. Sigh of relief!

Digital Scrapbooking

A few months ago, I posted about creating digital scrapbooks from scrapblog.com. It was a great tool to sort of keep records of my kids growth and progress. Above all, its free. Unfortunately, when the site was upgraded (mind you, I was so excited and couldn't wait to try out the new features) all the previous scrapblog pages I made got lost! It was rather frustrating since I've spent so much time trying to get a few pages done.

I've since discovered another way to create a scrapbook. It's called digital scrapbooking which is same method as normal scrapbooking except that you can design the pages with Photoshop as well as purchase elements online at reasonable costs. It's exciting for me as I can create scrapbook pages using my own skills without having to spend too much time trying to learn something new again as well as keep better track of my kids progress thru pictures. As much as I would love to create my own elements, I can't just yet as I've only got limited time hence I buy them sometimes or download some freebies that are available. My favourite site is Designer Digitals (unfortunately the site is blocked in China).
